Buff Gardeners
This group is intended for those who enjoy the natural aspect of gardening, and don't feel the need to cover their natural state while tending their plants. This group may be used to exchange ideas, and success stories, and of course...recipes, that have been brought fourth from the earth.
Normalizing nude gardening
Return to DiscussionsWorld Naked Gardening Day is coming up in May. It's a great occasion to help others get over their fear of nudity and to learn to be non-judgemental about their own body and others. I'm usually naked when I'm working in the garden. One neighbour can see me if he goes out of his way to, which he does, trying not to be noticed, but I can hear him creeping through the bushes on the property line. Whatever, dude, enjoy the view! Otherwise, the garden is out of sight except to visitors. I keep a pair of shorts handy just in case someone stops by unexpectedly. I warn neighbours in my small community to make lots of noise on the way in so I know they're coming. No one's responded badly when I announce that I'm a nudist, and some of them respond to my warning with delight, happy to hear that they're not the only nudists in this community.
We usually have garden helpers living with us for all or part of a summer (our garden is huge, we need the help). I warn them ahead of time that I'm a nudist, and so far that hasn't stopped any of them from coming. Only one of our garden helpers has also been a regular nudist, and the others will only strip briefly to swim. Some of them are too pale skinned to spend much time in the sun, so I understand that. But still, I have to wonder why nudism isn't more common. As every year, my partner and I are looking for a garden helper. Someone who knows what they're doing (it isn't help when the crops get pulled along with the weeds!), and who would like to experience a summer in a wild mountain setting where they can be free in a gorgeous and productive garden. -- Happy Gardening!
Interesting this year world naked gardening day is also the same day as the coronation of King Charles III
While I have read here and elsewhere that public nudity is generally legal in England, I doubt if someone could watch the coronation procession in person (un)dressed like that.
