Blankety-blank snails!!!!!
Return to DiscussionsCleaned out where I think they spent the day, put salt around the perimeter of the garden, picked up a bunch of snails one by one by flashlight and disposed of them. Broccoli now looks healthy except the leaves the snails were eating. Yay!

try using an old small tub [margarine tub is great] sink in garden so
rim is close to soil surface,, place some beer dregs in it,,, slugs love
it, fall in and drown,, serious,, give it a try,, and the beer wont
hurt animals unlike the pellets,,, crushed egg shells about the base of
the plant of course sand will also help as the slugs dont like crawling
over it.
I think u can also make a spray using garlic and chili, but
do a search first,,, I use this [called fire water] to keep the bugs off
my citrus trees,
good luck!

This brings back memories from my younger years. My grand parents got some ducks to eat the snails and slugs, they would walk around the yard with the slime hanging from their beaks.
