Directions from Phoenix : North on I-17, exit at General Crooks Trail in Camp Verde (Route 260). Stay on 260 until you reach State Route 87. Turn north and follow directions from Payson.
Payson Route : Take State Route 87 north from Payson about 40 miles to Clint's Well, turn left on Forest Highway 3 (paved road- sign says"To Flagstaff"). Go north on FH3 to FR692 (between mile markers 304- 305). Enter the gate, but be sure to close it after you. Go .3 mile and take the first right on FR938. Go .2 mile to Y-junction, take a right, then approximately .2 mile to the campground. Watch for ribbons / or signs
