Return to Discussionsso how well do you have your mode of transportation to the water to how well you canoe or kayak set up to how fast your out onto the water. we see people at the ramp loading or unloading gear that they spend more time on pavement than on water.

i've had my kayak longer so i got it down to about 5 minutes well it's also 5 feet shorter than the canoe so alot easier to handle, the paddle is usually inside and vest strap to deck. on canoe it takes about 10 minutes but still getting use to it so hopefully less time soon. i've tried to make it simple paddle, vest, cooler and fishing pole.

Never really timed ourselves, but it isn't long. Keep the paddles in the cockpit. Everything of importance gets in the dry bag. Live vest strapped to the deck. 'Yaks come off the car and in the water, shorts come off, and hot the water. Maybe 5 minutes tops
