paddling
Return to DiscussionsThere is a creek near my home called Lake Marion Creek where I have canuded several times. Usually these are just day trips, but i have also camped there a few times. Except for a couple of road crossings, this creek is untamed, real Florida wilderness, and only once have I worn clothing while paddling it. I was with a large group at the time. A friend of mine had talked me into going, thinking I would enjoy it. It was a zoo! Many loud, inexperienced folks. Not my idea of fun at all. So I hung back, got to the back of the pack, and let them pull on ahead. I kept them barely in earshot. Then I was able to strip and enjoy the trip until I got near the takeout point on Lake Hatchineha.
My website has trip reports of other canoe camping trips. Not exactly recent, but definitely memorable.

i agree campingbare , i go yaking or in the canoe for quiet time to hear the birds , see the turtles or fish the other day even though i was at a park and there is a walking trailand playground the lake is big enough to find solitude. paddling is so much different than my fishing boat you can almost reach out a touch a turtle or glide by a fish but when you get others paddling it sound like a waterpark in motion.
been out about five times since first of years most days in mid 60's , no not nude yet but mainly fishing and enjoying my canoe. i have been using my kayak paddle and maybe it's just me but it is so much easier to paddle. i am planning a short trip to a park that has about ten lakes and a canal where i hope i can get some nude time in but would like it to at least reach into the 70's.
John hope she is ok to join you, i have a bad knee so i bought a canoe alot easier to get in and out of ( also er to fish out of) i also still have the kayak to putter around with. anything to get out on the water as far as i'm concern works and getting nude makes it that much better.
+ 2 for canoes. When my wife had back surgery 3 years ago the doc told her no more kayaking because of the way you sit. Basically like sitting on the floor with your legs straight out for long periods. Not good he said. Canoes allow you to sit more naturally. So we got two solo canoes. Still have the kayaks and i take mine out occasionally but the canoe is the go to paddle.
