Car Enthusiasts

A place for nudist gearheads to meet and talk about cars! If you're as passionate about cars as you are about nudism, this is the spot for you.

I have a 1988 East German Trabant that I have been working on. I would love to drive it naked this summer. Anyone else have one of these?

Where in the world did you get that? It is not the kind of car most people get from Germany but I guess that what makes it unique. How does it drive?

That is so cool! It is great to have a car so rare and not the stereotypical collector car. Would love to ride naked in it.

I lived in Germany in the 90s, where i was introduced to nudism and a more free life. This was shortly after the wall opened and these Trabants were everywhere. One day I said I'd have one.

It rides well despite the fact it's a 2 cycle engine and stinks like a weed whacker. It is pretty reliable. It won't get you there fast, but it will get you there. No frills at all. It's a blast to drive.

It would be an honor to ride naked in it with you.

Where do you maintain and repair it in US?)

I have read that shortly after reunification, having Trabants on the highway with Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, etc., created some interesting situations.

Driving a Trabi anywhere these days (especially outside Europe) shall get lots of looks, and the open glasshouse doesn't disguise what's inside! Not for the circumspect!

The Viva I used to drive was much more advanced than a Trabi (notwithstanding Lucas electrics, through they never let me down) but the boxy design and big windows probably meant you were most exposed to the outside world this side of a convertible.

Given the age of this thread, I wonder how the project turned out?

I read somewhere that you can replace engine and transmission from a Suzuki motorcycle. Dont know if its true?
