Have not come to a conclusion/plan yet but I do believe in doing something good vs giving up something.
In past years, I participated in something that Catholic Relief Services has done called Operation Rice Bowl. The idea is for you to commit to simple meals and prayer. Any money you save can be sent to CRS for hunger and poverty relief programs. You can pick up a "kit" that has the "rice bowl," calendar with prayers and food suggestions at many parishes.
