Christian Nudists

We gather together for fellowship. To share about our relationship with God To tell of how we work out being a Christian and a nudist in daily living. We see nudism as a positive expression of our God given sexual nature.

Happy Ascension Day

A few hours early (by UK time, anyway), but best wishes as we celebrate Ascension Day. I used to think this was the most important day of the Christian year, because it celebrates the completion of the story of salvation, and there is certainly a truth in that, but I now realise that Advent Sunday is even more important, because it reminds us that the story does not all lie in the past and is still unfinished.

Many churches in the US celebrate Ascension on the following Sunday.

In a sense, many in the UK do that, too, but this year the lectionary readings for Sunday do not appear to relate to the Ascension. Perhaps I should simply have transferred the readings from today, but it is too late now.

I think one of the most important days, and the most overlooked is Holy Saturday. That day between the cross and the resurrection. How can you really appreciate the wonder of 3aster Sunday and the resurrection if you haven't sat with Jesus in the tomb.
The day of questioning and doubt for the disciples. Which reminds us that doubt is part of our faith.

An interesting thought, which had never occurred to me. I am not accustomed to having a service on Holy Saturday, and I tend to regard it a normal day, between (as it were) two sabbaths. So I do my shopping, finish preparing for tomorrow and have a rest.
