Who was the first nudist?
Return to DiscussionsI don't believe it was any biblical character since nudity was common and there wasn't any practice of going nude in those times. Nudist was a term coined by textiles to identify those who prefer to go nude (seeing how that went against the cultural norm). Seems like any behavior that is outside the cultural norm is given a label like nudist etc.
Some good answers .... but think about this. The Bible says that Adam walked in the garden with God, and Adam didn't know he was naked. Well Adam was made in Gods image so if God had been wearing clothes Adam would have known he was naked.
I think God was the first Nudist, even before they had a name for it.

Very interesting perspective, I must agree with that logic.
Adam and Eve were the first nudists. Clothing was unknown before the Fall, and became only optional after the Fall. God never commanded them to wear clothes. He just provided them to Adam and Eve to protect them from the harsher environment of the post-Fall earth.
