When were you cut and why? And what are your thoughts on it.
Return to DiscussionsI was cut at birth like most guys born in the mid 50s. I didn't know what foreskin was until i traveled to Europe in 1985!! I don't even remember seeing a photo of an uncut penis.
I read threads here and on LPSG where lots of guys cut at birth complain of not having the choice and wanting to restore etc. I'm curious if everyone here can tell a little bit about (1) their age, (2) when were they circumcised and (3) if you were cut later, why? Medical reasons, religious reasons or just because you liked the look. (4) What are your thoughts on it now?
If you had sons, would you have them circumcised at birth or wait until later when you could discuss it with them and let them decide?
There's great site for cut men (and their admirers) cuttingclub.de You might want to check it out if you're interested.

I was circumcised shortly after birth because it was the norm in the place i was born back in the 1970's. I didn't have either of my sons circumcised.I wanted them to have the choice and benefits of not being cut.

While at secondary school, in my year of around 30 boys, only two of us were cut.During sport events, we were the odd ones and looked and felt different. Many years later, we had a school reunion and one of the girls remembered that I had been cut.
How did she know this in the first place?
Cut at birth...will never know how it would have felt uncut...at least uncut can feel both ways just pull it back.
I was not cut at birth because my father wasn't and he had told my mom he didn't want his sons to be either. I absolutely hated being uncut, and was very insecure about it. Especially in gym class in school when we showered. I felt different and had guys ask why I was not cut. I had it done when I was around 30 years old. I was at the urologist for something and was talking to the doctor about how I hated being uncut. He said he could do the circumcision in there onsite surgery center. I told him that I doubted my insurance would cover it because it would be cosmetic. He said we will make it where it's not. On paper that is. I had a few guys tell me I shouldn't do it, that it takes some of the sensitivity away. I didn't care, I wanted it to be done. I had it done and it was never very painful, I don't think I even took anything above a Tylenol. My dick did look like it was beat with a hammer from bruising. They also sent me home with these capsules that my doctor joked and called them "soft Peter" and said if I got hard (like through the night) he said to crack one open and smell it, that immediately my dick would go soft. Never had to use them. A couple times through the night I woke up hard, it was uncomfortable, but not excruciating and it went down pretty quickly. Was supposed to wait 3 weeks before having sex and it was 7 days. I did not then or today 18 years later feel any difference in sensation. I had asked the doctor about hearing that I would lose some, and he said that was a myth. He also said that the health benefits of being circumcised was far greater than not being. For one he said the penis would carry less bacteria and therefore lessened chances of infection in the ureatha and therefore lessend the chances of certain types of cancer. He said it also lessend the chances of receiving a yeast infection, and/or passing a yeast infection on to a partner. I was glad I had it done, cosmetically it looked better to me, and though I washed my penis well with every shower my wife at the time seemed to have less yeast infections and/or UTI's which can be caused by sex with a uncircumcised man. Anyway I could tell no difference in feeling between the two, and I liked the way it looked and it helped my wife keep having the two issues I listed, which kept her from passing a yeast infection back to me if she had one and not aware just yet. And it took off a couple or so minutes from my shower time.
In my early 60's and I was cut at birth. Don't regret it. Had my sons cut when they were born. My wife and I had quite a discussion about it. I thought it might make them insecure not looking like their dad and most of their peers. They are in their 20's now and I've asked them if they wish they hadn't and both said no.
