Cooking during shelter at home
Return to DiscussionsHad pot roast the other day in the slow cooker.Thats great who else is using slow cooker?
i have a few go-tos with a slow cooker. Chili, pot roast, vegetable beef soup ( from leftover roast beast) but my favorite is one my mother learned 60 yrs ago when she was first married from a German woman who lived below my parents.
Drag slices of round steak in flour and brown in a bit of oil in a skillet. Chunk up potatoes , carrots, an onion, , green pepper and celery and put crockpot add meat to top and cover all with V8 juice. Let simmer for the day on low. Result fall apart tender round steak and savory vegetables,.
Hello all:Im new to this group, but not to cooking. Since weve begun compassionately distancing, Ive found that my enjoyment of cooking has come back to me. So, just saying hello, and Im glad to be here.
I should probably "social distance" from my kitchen a little; however, I find cooking a good distraction and the whole preparation process for me is one of relaxation and joy. Seeing what I can create! The first few weeks were cooler where I am, so it was nice to have the oven on slow roasting things and the last few months I have been trying things in my Instant Pot (still trying to master the knack of this device!)! I enjoy cooking fresh and relatively tasty things, but have been using a few true and trusted comfort casseroles that I don't make on a regular basis. Everything in moderation and trying to get some walks in after it. Luckily, cooking is also something you can enjoy naturally naked!
