Colorado Mountain Hiking
Share information about good locations to hike nude in the Front Range and in the Mountains. (Boulder/Denver/Ft.Collins/RockyMountainNationalPark/IndianPeaks, Summit County and the Southern Front Range too). No discrimination, so if you have an area not listed, feel free to mention it too.
World Naked Hiking Day
Return to DiscussionsJune 21st, the first day of summer, is World Naked Hiking Day. It seems to me that a Colorado naked hiking event should be a thing. We would need a trail and perhaps some advertisement outside of this website. It would be nice to in some of the many people willing to try nude hiking that aren't here. Also, the 21st is a Wednesday. We could pick a weekend before or after to make it more accessible. Thoughts and ideas?
First would be to find the trail/location. We would want it to be very safe, so that limits the options if publicizing it. We would need a town that would sanction it, or do it on private land.
MAR might be interested, although it would require paying for entry. The same would go for Mick's place. OLT would as well.
Personally, I'd prefer to actually hike on Solstice, so I'll like to try and get time off and find a quiet location (unless something is planned close by and is feasible).

Yeah--if you try to do it formally, the logistics get daunting. The USFS probably would not be an issue other than you would need a permit for the gathering. However, the county would have the final say. That's the issue. You really need an activist group to organize something like any kind of day on public land. Private land not visible to the public is really the best option. In five years of looking, I haven't found that nudist-friendly owner of 2,000 acres willing to host an event. I have a lot of ideas for an informal gathering. Unfortunately, none are close to the Front Range.
