Return to DiscussionsThe moderators have abandoned this group. One has not been on for 6 plus years and the other 2. It happening in many groups and the site owners appear to show no concern in correcting any of the issues that have arisen over the last few years. Kinda looks like were on our own here in the sea of bots and fakes that have been running amok.
Seems to be happening all over. I am a member of the "Nude Kayak Fishing" group which has languished in the absence of anyone with admin or moderator authority. It is essentially dead. I made several requests to take over the group but never received any sort of reply. So there it sits in lonely isolation.
In view of the absence of moderators and inaction on the part of TN administration, the only possible action we could take is to star a new group which might be called "Nudists who are Daring."
In order to keep it clean it would either need to be a private group where all members are pre-vetted or have VERY active moderation to istantly ban all the inappropriate posters.
My preference would be to have a private group with a limited team of moderators where all the posts, pictures, etc. are visible to non-members.
If we are daring nudists then we must be willing for any member of TN to see everything we post to the group.
With such a moderation team we should be proof against moderators dropping out for reasons beyond their control.
What are your opinions on this?
In particular:
1. Would you sign up to such a group?
2. Would you be a moderator?
3. How many moderators should there be in the team.
4. Are there any rules we would like our moderators to work under and if so what should they be?
As much as I like having continuity in groups, perhaps renewal with a new group is unavoidable once they becomed orphaned. Perhaps the best way to safeguard for the future is to have multiple moderators (perhaps target three) who are committed to preserving the group and adding moderators to replace those who drop away, for whatever reason.
I've never aspired to be a moderator, but would be happy to step in to assist with the above and stamp out any catfishers that try to post here.
I'm very much onboard with the new group idea, and I agree with the stated moderator and functional dynamics. I would not be available to be a moderator though, except as maybe a fill in or backup for a short time..........I really like the idea
