Return to DiscussionsI did not go into a police station....but...in the city marina where I keep a sailboat....the office is run by the city police.To lease a slip, one must give contact numbers and an email address. Had a question about changing slips, sent an email to the marina office, which is run by a female police officer. Got an immediate response, that I replied "thanks" for a quick reply. She said she was bored, all caught up on paper work. That led to a series of mail exchanges, and I asked her about the legalities of nudity on the lake.She said it was not something that the police had any interest in trying to enforce, only responding to complaints about nudity.She admitted that she knew that a lot of boaters went nude out on the lake, but kept a low profile about it. NO harm no foul. It was at that point that I admitted to her that I was a nudist...and I sailed nude a lot....most of the time after dark.She was amused, saying she was not surprised. Seeing an opportunity, I mentioned to her, that I had seen her walking the docks, checking on permit stickers. And last time she came down my dock, I was nude, but remained down in the boat out of sight. She said as long as no one saw me nude, and made a complaint, she said it was fine with her. I made the bold question, next time she walked the docks, I did not need to stay out of sight. She told me, she would not be offended. A couple of weeks later, a week day I had off, I was on my boat doing some maintenance...she walked by, said hello, and she saw me nude. We had a short chat, she standing on the dock, me sitting nude in my boat....it was a very pleasant experience!!
