WELCOME CURRENT, NEW AND INCOMING MEMBERS. An assignment for you.

Return to Discussions

As of this morning here in Florida, we are up to 58 members, although only a few have posted. In order to keep this group relevant, so it shows up on the "Most recent" drop down, we need to have more participation. Otherwise this group will simply fizzle away since we don't have the tsunami of SSH posts to increase activity like other groups do. Namely the group that this group was intended to replace.
Here is your assignment, answer these questions:

1) What was the most recent Daring Nudity thing you have done? Mine was posing nude in front of the Southernmost Point statue in Key West, although that may change tomorrow. I don't count things like taking the trash to the street, filling my gas tank at the local gas station and visiting the ATM since those are standard operating procedure for me now.
see pic in media page here

2) What do you feel is the most daring thing you have ever done? Mine was probably walking up to a well lit bank ATM, about 50ft from my car

3) What is the most daring thing you want to do but haven't yet. Be realistic, stuff that you could actually pull off. Sure, I would love to run through Times Square nude on New Years Eve, but I would probably be arrested within seconds and if not, I would freeze to death, so that is not practical..

Don't be shy and don't be embarrassed if you feel your exploits do not "measure up" We all have our limits, either personal or professional (repercussions from employer or loss of clients) While attaching a pic, or posting it in this groups media page is a plus, I know that is not possible

Let's get some lively discussions going so this can be one of the best groups on the site!!

Minimalist, I've been trying, for a few days now, to respond to your question. The site has been "uncooperative". Seems to be fixed now, so...When it comes to sleeping nude, at my house there are two major factors that have to be taken into consideration. First is creature (me) comfort. It's WINTER here, mate. Having been born and raised in the West Texas desert, I LOVE the heat...and, conversely, I hate the cold. Wearing pajamas to bed in the winter time, in the interest of creature comfort, does NOT seem (to ME, at least) like a disloyalty to my nudist nature. I just hate being cold. And the second major factor that needs to be taken into consideration is one of social acceptance. You see, I have a HOUSE GUEST. Long story short: my 38 year old stepdaughter has moved back home. Although her mother is grudgingly accepting of my nudity, she would NOT be tolerant of my nudity around her daughter. And because we do NOT close our bedroom door, it is expedient to wear SOMETHING to bed, be it as minimal as possible in warm weather. Sooooo, friend Minimalist, when I go to take my bins to the curb naked, I go out on my patio, GET NAKED, and then proceed about my business. Makes sense? I hope so. LOL

If you are cold under the covers in winter, pajamas make sense. I wore heavy pajamas in winter and light ones in summer when I was single, but after I was married, I found that having a second body kept me warm enough. I did wear light weight pajamas for a while, then sleep shorts only then light weight boxers before arriving at nothing. Should have gotten rid of all of my sleepwear as soon as I got married. We usually slept with the door closed so privacy wasn't an issue.
Do you have any opportunity to be nude when your stepdaughter is at work?

RE:WELCOME CURRENT, NEW AND INCOMING MEMBERS. An assignment for you.

As creator of this group, I ought to have added my piece to this topic, so here goes:

1) My most recent daring nudity was done accidentally this morning when I walked out of the male changing room into the busy pool area at the local 25-metre pool with my swimsuit in my hand and not on my body. I was immediately reminded of my omission by the attendant to which I responded by putting it on without panicking.

2) The nudity which was most daring at the time was the first time I walked round the block at the holiday apartment we were renting. I had taken the refuse out to the refuse bin several times before, after carefully checking that there ws no traffic around, but on this particular morning I suddenly decided to walk along the road past the next set of holiday apartments, a distance of a couple of hundred yards. I then returned to our apartment by walking down to the beach and along the beach front of the apartments. It now seems trivial for time, distance, risk, etc. in retrospect but at the time it involved a much greater degree of daring than anything I have done since.

3) The one thing which many would regard as daring and which I have so far failed to do it to join a WNBR cycle ride. Somehow everyday life has seemed to get in the way, together with a feeling that it would be hypocritical to burn oil in order to join an event which protests against oil dependency when it would be mostly for the fun of it.

While I understand your position on driving a distance to participate in a WBNR, someone else on this site has been to several all over the eastern half of the US and southeast Canada. He does try to combine trips.

Minimalist, the answer to your question is: Yes. The minute the stepdaughter leaves the house, the clothes come OFF. I keep close track of her comings and goings. We are at the beginning of spring here in Oz so opportunities to go naked are on the RISE!

By the way...TODAY is Friday here...and...YES,I took the refuse bin AND the recycling bin to the curb...naked, of course!

Cheers!
Tanner

With my wife's brother and his family living in Australia, we are familiar with the time and season reversals.
Making sure we only call early in the morning or late in the evening.
Opposite seasons.
Getting birthday and holiday greetings on line a day ahead of time.
Seeing one sunrise and sunset but arriving 2 days later,
Flying from Sydney in the afternoon and arriving in California on the morning of the same day.

I am a little surprised that you haven't adjusted more to the lower, but not extreme temperatures where you live now.

Fetching the recycling containers from the pavement and putting the neighbour's over his wall and off the pavement while traffic was passing along the road would have been my latest dare if it hadn't been for the accidental pool one.

Minimalist, you're spot on as far as the seasonal changes and the time zone differences are concerned. But, as for getting acclimated to the weather HERE, as opposed to what I was accustomed to in the States, perhaps you need to think it through just a tad further. You see, getting used to the temperate climate where I live NOW means I have gotten used to being WARM. When the nights turn CHILLY, it feels like COLD, to me...MUCH to my dislike! LOL Regardless, it's the HOUSEGUEST situation that is the determining factor....even MORE to my dislike!

JohnGW, it sounds like the routine with your and your neighbor's rubbish bins is YOUR weekly opportunity to be a little daring, very much like MINE is for me. Although it IS "regular and routine", I still find it a little thrilling to be out in my front yard, totally naked, for the 15 or 20 minutes it takes to put the bins out. Unlike YOU, I've never been QUITE bold enough to stand out by the curb when traffic has gone by. I've come CLOSE to being caught at the curb a couple of times...but have always been fortunate enough to make it BACK into the yard before being seen. But...who knows?...Maybe the next time a car starts my way, up the street, while I'm putting the bins out, I will take my time, instead of hurrying. LOL.

I couldn't nip back to safety when I hear a vehicle as I live on a road with a 30mph limit which is honoured more in the nreach than the observance. The only vehicles I could hear before they appear are noisy farm tractors and emergency vehicles on "blues and twos" both of which are comfortabley rare.
The only concealment rule I use it the army battle one of "if you wish to avoid being noticed then freeze." If you are totally still you are not a potential hazard to a driver, who will therefore not notice you and at that time of the morning there are very few passengers.

Others on the board have commented that their body adjusts to the temperature change after they have lived in a place for a while, I think in particular of someone who moved from upstate NY to South Florida. The first few winters he was there, he rarely wore long pants or a shirt, Now he wears both oudoors when the temperature is below 50F or so!
