Driving naked in Houston
Return to DiscussionsI enjoy driving naked here in Houston but am tired of doing it alone. Have several nudist friends but none of them are interested. It may have something to do with that fact that I drive a convertible. Besides driving naked, I have also done some things that I dared myself to do. Would love to find some other daring nudist here in town. If you notice when you are driving, the other people aren't interested in you. No body is surprised to see a man with no shirt on - especially in a convertible with the top down.

True, but it is easier to see that someone is nude in a convertible. I have a convertible but rarely drive nude because I like to drive with the top down and and not bold enough to take off my shorts when I do.
I imagine being seen shirtless is more obvious than what you may or may not be wearing below the waist in a convertible. Does being shirtless attract much attention?
I've felt that the shielding provided by the roof when driving my sedan, even with the windows down, means almost no-one takes any real interest while being shirtless in a convertible may invite more curiosity; but that's just a feeling rather than experience.
When I tried driving my Miata convertible in just a thong I felt fine knowing I wasn't risking anything if seen, yet driving nude late at night made me very nervous for some reason even on a late-night drive. Perhaps I need to try again...
There were two occasions where I was looked at in my sedan: once at a set of traffic lights from a driver in the car beside me (I think he noticed me shirtless but was not sufficiently aligned to see below the window sill) and once when leaving Sunnyside Rd where I got a toot and a smile from a vehicle on the highway as I waited to give way. In the latter case I suspect the driver and passenger knew where I was coming from, so being shirtless may have been a giveaway.

It's not the additional attention that being seen shirtless in a convertible that worries me. I am concerned that it is much easier to see below the bottom of the window.
