Just a quick run to town
Return to DiscussionsHad's to go to the bank drive up for a deposit and thought I'd get lunch too and go at a drive up, so thought I'd just throw a shirt on and go. 2nd thought better grabs shorts just in case. I leave and turn corner and get to stop sign and see police car thinking something going on there, pause thru stop sign and then see he's moving, I looking in the rear view mirror and the lights are on thinking he's got a call so I pull over for him to pass and he stops behind me. I naked by the waist below and able to get shorts on before he get to my side! Close call! Guess I didn't come to a complete stop so ended up with a traffic violation.
Anyone else with close calls with the Law?
Was thinking before I left that I didn't need shorts.. Glad i took some along....
So you got pulled for not stopping at a stop signal. Sounds like a money earner to me.
Very similar to the speed camera vans in the UK. They're "road safety camera vans" but they're not used on the dangerous / high risk roads, just on the ones where they're likely to generate the most revenue.
At least in the UK, being naked would not be a problem if we got stopped by the police.
I had a very close call with the law a few years ago in Toronto where I used to live. Was driving down to my condo in the city after a naked weekend at a friends cottage. It was a warm summer night so decided to,strip bare ass for the 2 hr drive. While navigating my way thru the city I drove up an incline on a street and to my surprise there was a ride program stopping all vehicles in the downside of the incline. They set up these spot checks to check for impaired drivers at places where you cant escape, so there I was buck naked and nowhere to escape. I quickly grabbed the shorts that were on the passenger seat and threw them over my lap as there was no time to pull them on. The officer stuck his head thru my car window and asked if Id been drinking which I said no and then flashing his light on my nether regions he asked, you are wearing clothes arent you? To which I replied yes. He asked for my ID, I gave it to him, he left to call it in and while he was gone, I quickly pulled my shorts on. He came back and seeing that Id dressed he said I was free to go! Wow, close call, I thought for sure He was going to ask me to exit the vehicle before I had the chance to get my shorts on and that I was going to get charged with some offense; what, I dont know, not sure of the legality of driving naked in Ontario, but still do it all the time when weather permits. My other car is a convertible and love driving naked with the top down.

Going to make the same run today, but will be more careful at the stop signs!
Had a similar incident while driving from South Dakota back to CA . Air patrol in Nebraska caught me speeding on a 2 lane back when speeds were 55mph just outside of town.. another quick put on shorts before i stopped as the HP was sitting there and flagged me to pull over. That was a heart stopper!!! ;) 2miles later they were off, No ac in that truck at the time. was seen by some truckers as I had a CB radio then.
I have had a couple of close calls driving nude over the years as well. I used to drive nude anywhere I could. VT has some liberal laws on nude in public so anytime I am driving over in VT the clothes are off.
In NH i was pulled over up in white mountains after skinny dipping and had only a towel on, officer was ok with it as told him what i was doing before driving home, got a speeding ticket only.
In NH late one night when driving home got caught at a gas station when pulled off to side of building to put shorts on before pumping. Police officer saw me pull over out of the way and came up on me with blues.Had shorts on by that time, but he was someone I grew up with and nothing bad came of event.
In VT was stopped by a police officer in Bolton. She was shocked when came up to side window and I was still nude. Told her where i came from swimming, she reminded me to be careful and not do anything stupid.
Other time when driving cross country nude was pulled over but able to slide my tan shorts on without being noticed.
I saw someone asked about shorts, part of safety is having a good pair of loose shorts that are tanned as well. It is not hard to kick feet into them when about to be stopped and slid up under butt while reaching into glove box for registration to have ready when they walk up.
