Return to DiscussionsThought I'd compile a list, to show anyone new to the site, how happy a lot of us are that we've finally found a great community here, and that it's well worth getting to know your way around and becoming a part of it. Feel free to post your own, I know there are quite a few on other forums, I'll paste them again here, as and when I come back across them :)

Forum Post from Jen & Steve
"One Year!"
Yesterday marked one year that we've been on this site. Wow, one year. And what a year it's been! When we joined the site there were just under 2000 members, now there's just under 20,000.
Frankly, after some of the other nudist sites we'd joined I didn't hold out much hope for this one. When Steve told me about it, I think my response was probably along the lines of "yes, dear. Another one of those nudist sites." "But, honey," he may have replied, "this one's different, it was started by a guy, only a few months ago, who is just as tired and exasperated by the other sites as we are. Check out the forum, check out the site, give it a chance". So I did. And he did. Initially he was more involved than I was. I'd been pretty disgusted by the other sites "we'd" joined. And it took me a little while to really give TN a chance. But I started paying attention when he'd meet people through here and set up times for us to "meet" them via messenger. They were a different quality of people for the most part. Friendlier, more honest and open, more intelligent and, lol, didn't turn the subject to cam sex or picture trading moments after saying hello. They had senses of humor, interesting stories to tell, great information to share. OMG! They were TRUE nudists! And then I started paying attention to the forum threads and posts. And it was the same. Yes, there were some that really just didn't get it, but once again, for the most part, I was reading well thought out posts written by intelligent, thinking, caring, humorous and fun people. I think I read every single one before I posted myself. LOL, and then I became addicted.
I'd been a nudist most of my adult life, I just didn't know it, - always felt perfectly comfortable in the safety of my own home nude. And then Steve took me to a naturist club in upstate New York about 5 or 6 years ago. And hiking to waterfalls in the nude and to my first beach clean-up in the Cape three years ago where we made our first "nudist" friends at Sandy Terraces. And I loved it. But I didn't consider myself a nudist, necessarily. Mainly because I hate labels and "nudist" to me was just another label. And seeing what went on on the other sites made me shun that label even more. But sharing opinions, viewpoints, ideas, information on the TN forum really helped me understand and formulate for me what being a "nudist" was all about. LOL, that includes the opinions and viewpoints I disagreed with. So thank you all here at TN who helped me shed away the layers of misinterpretation and negative connotations that I was clothed in and embrace the "label". Because of you I can proudly say (hehehe, to most but not all) I AM a NUDIST!
Last spring we took a trip down south for an event on a shoe string budget. That trip was made possible for us by a TN couple in North Carolina who opened their home to us and a TN single male in Virginia who hosted us as well. Thank you both for your hospitality and generosity. And a thank you to two of our friends in NJ who've also opened their homes and hearts to us. Just last weekend we had the honor of a visit from a TN couple from California. That's one of the things that makes this site so fantastic. True Nudists, True People, True Friends! We have made so many wonderful friends here, some whom we've met in person, some whom we have plans to meet with in the future and some who, though we may never have the opportunity to meet IRL, we've already met in our hearts.
Thank you to all on TN for a wonderful year and a special thank you to TT1 for creating, maintaining, upgrading, improving this site and putting up with every one's moaning, bitching and complaining during growth spurts and unpopular decisions. Because of you, TT1, our lives have become fuller with some really wonderful people.

Impressed.
Well I have been testing out the water (if you will) on this site for a few days now and i must say I am impressed. I have been a closet nudist for a few years and have been looking for a way to make that first step into social nudism. I was worried this would just be a thinly veiled perve sight but I was immediatly impressed by the quality of the discussion in these forums. I can't wait to get to know some of you better.

Forum Post From Me :)
This is by far the best site, but why?
There really are a lot of people saying that this is by far the best site that they have found. Why do think that is. Obviously it's free and we are blessed with a good crowd. I don't understand what makes a good page, but I find the colours, and the colors even, :) easy on the eye, hope that never changes and someone said it was "uncluttered." There are a few features I miss, so there is room for improvement, but overall I think it's great. What do you like about it.

"True Nudists" is different -- and that's okay
Occasionally I read a post that suggests imrovements to this site, or laments the things that are not here that other sites have -- such as being able to see who's been looking at your profile, a more efficient way to PM others on the site. Once in a while I see a posting or a profile that raises my eyebrows: but then, so do the "Abercrombie and Fitch" catalogues available in the mall.
I have to say, though, I've enjoyed the time I spend on this site a lot; I find the persons I've met here (most of them, only in cyber-space, though there are a few I know in real life) engaging and thoughtful -- and fun and funny.
Thanks to all of you folks for being a part of a sharp and well-run site, and for the work that you -- that we all! -- do to keep it a well-run site!
