It looks like the people that trashed the camping area are now being associated with nudists. Is there any interest in providing comments to the upcoming National Park Service plan? I honestly believe that if we could follow the example from Haulover Beach we might have a chance to change the status of the area.

I haven't seen an official update but I ran across a review of Johnson's on "Trip Advisor" and found answers to one of the questions interesting. The question was simply "Is it a nude beach?". The most sensible and comprehensive answer was posted on May 8, 2017 which was a "Yes" and followed up with some helpful information and explanation.
Five other answers were emphatic "No"
And one answer was more/less "I don't know". The responder indicated that she didn't see any signs one way or the other.
So, as of today, there have been seven answers to this question.

Anyhow, here's the URL to the page if you'd care to have a looksee.

word is you can still camp out at JB but only if you come in by boat.

Does this mean you can set up camp on the beach if you come in by boat? Or do you have to camp on the boat?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is great reading. I had no idea the GINS administration is on top of things to this extent. They even have rules and regs pertaining to the use of Segways. Who'd a thunk it! And I'm especially pleased to see they've already prohibited drones (and any other unmanned aircraft), for either recreational purposes OR for commerce. I can personally attest to seeing that rule violated already.

Anyhow, for those preferring to skip down to the camping part, it starts at Section 2.10 on page 21.

Map to G spot

Thanks Bear, you know, a fellow can never have too many maps to the G spot. On a more nautical level, if you notice the water depth between I and J, it comes in closer to the beach, making for better anchorage. That area also has the advantage of being further from foot and ranger traffic.
