Return to DiscussionsBeen there several times. Have tented as well as stayed in one of their little cabins on the hillside. A few years back when I was writing my dissertation, I actually went there for a week, and during the week, when it was nice and quiet, I'd set up in the building that has their dance floor, etc. out on the balcony and worked naked for the week. It was wonderful. They have among the best hiking of any CO camping resort that I've been to, (and I've been to quite a few). It's well marked and maintained. The steeper parts have steel cord stretched to use as "bannisters" to hold on to and stead yourself as you are going up and down. I like it because much of their hiking is not just a walk in the woods...it goes from top of the hill with great views down to paths along the creek down in the valley. Great place for bird-watching. People are friendly. Facilities very nice. Prices are reasonable. They have a "play barn" for those interested. The couple of other things I'd say is that of all of the CO Camping resorts I've been to, while there is play to be had, this one isn't as overtly sexual as many I've been to--guys are more subtle here. The other thing, and you may check on this before you go.....is that my last recollection is that when contractors may be in and out of the grounds is that "clothing optional" is pretty restricted to just certain areas during the week--not nearly the freedom to just wander naked as I like to do. Overall, it's among my favorite CO Camping resorts.........
I go to Roseland about 4 or 5 times a year, I love it up there. You can be either clothed or naked, no one will snub their nose at anyone if they decide toremain clothed. They have a very friendly and helpful staff, and the campers and year around residents are just as friendly.
