Hey Mark,
Ham Fields is by the Thames at Richmond. It's been a sunbathing meadow (and a dogging wood) for years, and can be really nice later in the summer once the grasses have grown up high enough for folks to be able to make private areas to relax in. It has public footpaths, and is sometimes patrolled by police; generally they are not there to hassle anyone, but sadly dogwalkers, young Mums and other members of the public, who have an absolute right to be there do feel uncomfortable, so it all has to be kept in balance....
