I made another trip out to the Ironwood Forest National Monument in search of the Big Bullnose Mine cache #CGJFC7. There is a trail that leads to the cache but as with my other trips to Ironwood, I hiked cross country. It was a near perfect day, the high temperature was about 80, light breeze and not another person in sight. I had no trouble finding the Bullnose Mine but was not able to find the cache. I searched for about 45 minutes but no luck. The description says the cache is within 30 yards of the trail. In the future I'll avoid caches with that vague a description, there is no indication how far down the trial it might be. That makes for a huge search area and the terrain on either side of the trail is very steep. It was still a great day, I couldn't have enjoyed the hike more. There is another cache I would have liked to try for a well but I didn't think I had enough time. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go back out there before I leave Arizona so it might have to wait until next fall. I'll post a couple photos on my profile page.
