Is Gunnison Beach open right now?
Return to DiscussionsIs the park still be open? Thinking about going for a walk and enjoying the nice weather, keeping a good social distance away from others. Been cooked up in my house for quite awhile.
Also last time I was there, part of the beach was closed. Will it be a full beach during this time?

Last notice I saw was the park was still open but ALL park buildings and facilities, restrooms, etc.... are closed.
They will enforce social distancing guidelines, so no groups, but an individual shouldn't have any issues.

It will be interesting to see what happens if a difference between federal and state opening strategy persists.
As a national recreation area, Sandy Hook, including Gunnison, could open before other beaches in NJ.
