Minimum coverage for walk to beack
Return to DiscussionsConsidering buying a tanga for the drive to Gunnison and the walk from the parking lot to the beach.
Probably a two-step process.
Start with something with moderate coverage like this.

Once I get used to it, go for the absolute minimum like this.

The Kiniki style never quite looks right to me, as there's too material at the rear so that it bulges above the string line in the centre. They should cut the fabric with a slight curve so that it's at least straight when worn, but it's obviously cut straight and therefore bulges upwards.
Conversely, the Skinz has a fantastic shape, but if being too low is a concern, then you may find that an issue.
Personally, I love the Skinz.
Or perhaps not sizing down on the Skinz will be adequate. Mine's a medium, but perhaps a large would have been better. I'm always tempted to go smaller and let the stretch do it's work but such a skimpy suit does not have as much stretch to spare!
Ordered a moderate tanga to wear on SE Florida beaches and when driving to Gunnison and walking to and from the parking lot to the beach.
Once I get comfortable with that, I will try a tanga with the minimal legal cover and perhaps eventually a g string.

Decided to order an adjustable tanga instead. Front goes from standard tanga to micro pouch, back from standard tanga to thong.

Swimsuit arrived recently. Maximum coverage is less than expected. I remembered when I saw it that Skinz uses the same amount of coverage for all size tangas, so if you are heavier like me, more skin is exposed. Was going to post pictures but found out that a member must now be certified to post any pictures and I am not comfortable uploading my driver's license.
Planning on going to Gunnison on Tuesday and trying to get up enough courage to wear it for the drive down and walk from the parking lot to the beach!
Went to Gunnison yesterday. Chickened out on wearing the adjustable tanga.
Good day for early in the season. Sea breeze was strong enough to keep the beach at a reasonable temperature without blowing too much sand.
Water was cold so very few in it.
Despite the heat in the parking lot, the majority of men still wore shirts for the walk to the beach.
Heavy traffic to and from the shore.
