There is a bus, I believe it's the S line from south beach to Aventura

Miami public transportation is not the best. specially go in to that area.
Take a Uber. it is faster a better

You don't know what you're talking about.
Buses and Metrorail in Miami is very reliable.
The Metro Bus has an app that tells you when the buses will arrive.

I am going in a couple of weeks. I'll be taking the bus from South Beach. Looks like the 120 will do it. Flying in from overseas. Skipping the car rental for a few days (40 buck parking fees at the hotel vs. $2.50 shuttle bus from the airport). Might even take a bus or two to Key West.

Edit: the 120 or the S route will get you there, but be warned, bus or car at Rush hour is brutally locked south of Haulover. What took 40 min in the morning, can take 2 hours to return
