Ocean Palms Motel
Return to DiscussionsI was afraid the Ocean Palms would have closed by now. Glad to see on TripAdvisor that as of Nov 17, 2010 it is still there. I've stayed there quite a few times and can't imagine staying anywhere else when going to Haulover beach. It's all about being able to walk to the beach. Think it's time to schedule a week down there.
As much as I liked the close proximity to Haulover, the place needs some major upgrades. The room may have been clean, but everything was so old that I didn't feel comfortable. It was like being in a cheap motel in high school when you couldn't take a date home because of your parents. There were also no restaurants close by...it was a good walking distance to get something to eat at night. Otherwise, I did enjoy being able to to walk to the beach first thing in the morning and even go after hours. Even though themotel stated no nudity, I would find nudists around the pool area. I have very mixed feelings about staying there again.
