Return to DiscussionsI'm relatively happy with T-mobile for my cell service except for one major problem. Even though their coverage map shows that they provide service in the Hidden River area, they don't. At least not to MY phone. I lose my connection not far north of Macclenny and have never gotten a signal at the resort. I've seen other people talking on phones though so, obviously, somebody is putting out cell service up there.
I want to keep my T-mobile service. So my ideal solution is to find some sort of "pay as you go" type service that I'll use only when I'm at Hidden River. But first, I'll need to find out which providers actually provide service there. I'm guessing ATT and Verizon. Neither of which I would ordinarily choose to do business with. But... any port in a storm. And I don't even know if either of them provide the type plan that I'm looking for.
Anyhoo, can anyone here get a signal at HR? And if so, which carrier do you use?
Ok, thanks. Someone else told me they thought Verizon service is available there. I'll check further into that. Unfortunately, I can tell you for sure that T-Mobile doesn't work there. They're adding towers though so I've been hoping they would add one close to HR. And I guess it's possible they already have a signal there but it may be too weak for a phone to pick up without connecting to some sort of external antenna/signal booster. If you find a solution for picking up a signal on your T-Mobile phone, I would appreciate it if you'd let me know. Meanwhile, I'll probably check with Verizon to see if they have one of those throw away phones with a plan that allows one to pay in advance for X number of minutes, rather than a monthly type plan. I can't imagine that I'd be on the phone much while I'm there.
