Return to DiscussionsHey Astro! A few tips, the park is limiting entry to 40% capacity so that means that getting there early is ideal to get in. Lately, it seems it's been slowing down a bit but I would arrive before 11am on a weekend (opens at 9am). Weekdays tend to not fill up.
Second there is a lot of zebra muscles in the rocks near the shore. These have small little sharp shells so it's very important to bring water shoes of some type to avoid cuts. Thirdly, no glass, pets or under 18 are allowed. Lastly, they only accept cash (no cards). It's 8$ per person.
Other than that it's up to you! I suggest, a towel, sunscreen, snacks and a float. There's some shade under trees but it takes some looking. There's a hose someone installed at the second bathroom to shower with clean water if you'd like. Most regulars tend to sit around the second restroom. The water is a bit low now so be ready to rock climb a bit depending on your location.
I visit Hippie Hollow semi-regularly. I will probably be out there that day. Maybe we can meet up!
