Our house was tented last month, and they had to cut the screens on our back porch. Today, a screen-repair service was due to arrive between 12 and 2. I was out earlier, and got back home around 10 to find a work truck in the yard. I got out of the car (clothed, since I had just been in town), and showed the workman around back to the screen room and introduced him to our dogs. Then I went inside to put away the things I had in the car.
Our driveway has an obvious sign stating we are clothing optional, and that you may see nudity. So once inside, I of course stripped to my normal state and proceeded doing my various tasks for the day. One of the things I was working on was my sailboat, which sits in the front yard. Several times, the worker came back to his truck for material or tools. At one point I asked how things were going, and he answered good. We were in clear view of each other at the time.
I finished with the boat and went inside for lunch. After lunch, I went around back to see how things were coming along. He had completed the roof segments, but hadn't started the side panels yet. I went back to chores in the house. Eventually, I saw him walk past a back window carrying his ladder. I grabbed my wallet (for credit card) and went out back to look at the work. It was complete and looked good, so I went around the house to make payment.
The young man had some difficulty with his phone app to process the credit card, so we chatted a bit about the dogs and how hot it was, and how he preferred the heat over cold weather, which I agreed with. He seemed fully at ease, and remarked repeatedly how nice our property was. He seemed to want to ask something, but held back (I assume something about being naked). Eventually, we got the card transaction done, and he asked about some old golf clubs on our take-to-the-dump pile. I told him to take what he wanted. He took them all, and waved as he drove off.
I suspect he will have a story to tell back at the shop.
