Japan is one of the countries with a long history of hot spring bathing. Traditionally, men and women bath together (mixed bath). Sadly, many hot springs nowadays seperate male and female customers for obvious reasons. However, I did managed to find an mixed bath hot spring when I travelled to Miyagi (Japan) this year with my partner.
The bathing area is right besides a small river. The environment is beautiful and quiet. On the day, there were several people around in both gender. Everyone was enjoying themselves in nude. Me and my partner had a wonderful time there -- her first time being nude in public in the presence of other men. Being able to stay nude for hours in such beautiful environment is shear comfort and ultimate relaxation.
So next time you travel, do spend some time researching the destination. You may find a nice surprise as I did.
