RTE2 Documentary "Full Frontal"

Return to Discussions

Over the years there have been countless
articles, books, TV documentaries and films that attempt to explain why
shedding one's clothes in the company of others in a non-sexual context
is something everyone should experience. Most try to convey
how "liberating" it is; or how it is a road to greater "body
confidence"; or cite it as an act of absolute "honesty" or "openess"
with regard to who you are. To many these are somewhat abstract concepts
(when coupled with centuries of body shaming or sexualization of the
naked human form) and they just don't hit the mark, even for someone
like me who does "get it". The net result is that there are still large
swathes of society that trot out the same reasons and excuses that at
best conclude with comments like "oh no I could never do that" or at
worst " that's just perverted/weird".

Of course, to most TN members I'm "preaching to the converted" but if
you often struggle to explain your interest in naturism or readily admit that you don't "get it" (but are open to trying) then in
my opinion the first episode of an Irish Documentary entitled "Full
Frontal" is a must see. The series aims to explore Irish attitudes to nudity.

I found it entertaining, informative,
and honest. Women with body confidence issues may find the segment on body confidence inspirational. It's around 50mins long and will only be available for another 9 days. I've yet to watch the second episode, let's hope it continues to be a good series.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share a direct link on TN but go to the RTE player website https://www.rte.ie/player and search for "Full Frontal", then select the episode first aired on October 16th. Let us know what you think.
