What steps should one take for added Hygiene?
Return to DiscussionsI switched to mineral salt water with a drop in chlorine generator a couple of years ago after using straight chlorine for 10+ years. Once I had the correct salt level and other balances, I didn't have to adjust anything except adding about a cup of salt over the summer season. I do add 2 tablespoons of a Non-chlorine Oxidizing Shock once a week that keeps the water clear.
The only issue I've had is salt is hard on heater elements. Had to switch to a titanium element that resists corrosion.
