I haven't been to the Grand Lido resorts since the change, but I've heard rumors about the Grand Lido Negril.
Supposedly room service is no longer free, there are no more complimentary spa treatments, and one of the restaurants has been closed completely (I think it was the only restaurant open 24 hours). The staff has supposedly been cut to half of what it was.
According to reports, the staff is still very friendly and courteous (probably more so if they're in fear of losing their jobs), but service is extremely slow because of the reduced numbers of staff.
It will be interesting to check back in a few months and see if things have settled down and sorted themselves out. Right now it sounds too much like reduced services for the same price.
