Return to DiscussionsI grew up when locker room nudity was normal. You had to shower after gym and swimming class. There was no choice. My ymca had open showers so you spay couldn't hide there. It's very common to talk there. As a guy, once you remove your clothes there is nothing to hide making it easier to be yourself. Personally I'm not shy growing up when I did and trust anyone who is nude more than someone who is clothed.
I also grew up in a time where showering in a group was the norm. It took place after gym classes, sporting events and scout camps. It was no big deal. Yes, maybe awkward the first time but afterwards, it was very natural. Everyone was completely free and honest to just be themselves. It wasn't anything sexual at all. It's a shame that people today have so many hangups about nudity. It's strange watching young guys in a locker room doing the towel-dance while changing.
