I rarely shave at the gym, but when I do, I am nude with my towel on the edge of the sink.
In both my present and prior gym, the majority wear underwear or a towel to shave, but I am not the only one to do it nude.
Valley Athletic Club, Olympia, WA. An older, well-maintained club with two saunas, a steam room and a hot tub in the adult men's locker room. It was real common to see guys shaving naked in front of the sink, including me. Mostly older men, and nudity in the locker room was the norm except for a few younger guys who wore their underwear in the shower (I never understood that). Sorry we moved to a different area in the state a couple of years ago because I miss that place.
Also, there are two Korean spas in the Seattle area, and they provide free disposable razors and shaving cream. Some shave at the sink but most guys will shave in the shower. They have sit-down showers where it's real easy to shave areas other than your face.
After my workout, I strip down walk to the shower nude with towel rolled up in my arm like a football. If need be, I do stop at the stalls or urinals. After my shower I dry off put towel over my shoulder and walk back to my locker. Once there I finish drying off hang my towel over the locker door pick up my razor and shaving cream and walk to the sink where I shave totally naked and I take my time. No need to rush! I enjoy being nude and being seen by others. Hopefully I can influence other to do the same. Which I have!
I only shave from the neck down. It is so much easier to wet-shave in the shower.
Incidentally in the UK the sink is in the kitchen, where we wash the dishes. It would be a bit high for me to shave my pubes. In the bathroom we have what we call a washbasin, conveniently a little lower.
The only place I shave is at the YMCA. After stripping of my sweaty workout clothes which include a sweaty jockstrap, I walk nude to the communal shower, and after showering I walk into to the steam room, carrying only a sweat towel to sit on. When my beard is nice and hot I walk naked to the sink, putting my sweat towel over the edge of the counter, and then, buck naked, I attend to shaving my face. It is an awesome feeling being totally nude with other nude men. It's especially satisfying if the man or men next to me are nude too. The best is when another naked man approaches and we converse at length. There's nothing like hanging out naked with a naked bro.
