New gym - pleasantly surprised
Return to DiscussionsI just joined a gym in my area, and one of the things I was looking forward to was that it has a steam room and a sauna. I was wondering about any rules or people's attitude toward being nude in the steam/sauna. Well, I was pleasantly surprised - the first day, I went into the steam room, and of 6 guys who came in, only 1 was not naked. It seems to be a relaxed attitude there with most people not worried about being nakedin the locker room and the steam/sauna. I am happy to see not all steam rooms are prudish areas here in the States!
Good for you!! Sadly that kind of open attitude is getting harder and harder to find. My old gym had a very liberal membership where open nudity in the locker room was the norm. When it closed several years ago all the newer area gyms I visited had a much more conservative attitude and as time passes they seem to get even more up tight about being comfortable in their own skin. Seems the younger people have a very poor attitude toward their bodies.
