Why Not Certified

Return to Discussions

Why don't some members send in a picture to be certified by an administrator. I hesitate to share pictures via email or chat with anyone who is not certified. Not being certified makes me think that the member is not who he/she says s/he is.

As per me they are not True Nudists and if they hesitate to share there nude picture to the world then why they are here.

Interesting topic. I changed my personal "open" policy to acceptance of most new friend requests a few weeks ago.
I'm ok with Not Certified. Could be a number of reasons. But a naked picture is a requirement for me if Certified status lacking.
If an un-Certified member sends a friend request and lacks a naked photo I usually decline but send a brief message and explain.

RE:Why Not Certified

When I did my certificate I had no problems so I don't know why this has happened as I am also a non payer unless they aren't bothered about this these days.

RE:Why Not Certified

When I branched out into social nudism it was with a lot of help from members here on TrueNudists. They showed that us nudists are quite normal people, not perverted just because we like to get naked. I doubt any of them (of you) realised you were giving that encouragement. The last time I took a look the majority of TN members are not certified and have no photos. I like to think that this majority are real nudists and only a few are voyeurs. Maybe they are taking their first tentative steps. So let's give them every encouragement.

Yes certification and/or nude photos do help reassure us that the member is a genuine nudist. Some groups insist on it. And yes there is the quid-pro-quo - if you want to see naked people you should let them see you nude too. That spurred me on to upload photos of myself and (as you may have noticed) I just don't know when to stop. What the heck! If someone really wants to look at this naked old man they are welcome, whether a genuine nudist or someone just getting an eyeful.

RE:Why Not Certified

There are lots of folks among the general population who're interested in nudism but haven't yet experienced it in a social situation, nor do they have outlets for gathering information. Along comes the internet, and if they Google "Nudists" this website is one of the first things to appear. The front page advertises "Join For Free", and so they do. Since all of us had to start somewhere, they're anxious to connect with real live nudists, but are still a bit guarded as to their identities and/or photos, let alone a nude photo. Those of us who are open about our enjoyment of nudism can do a lot to bring them along in their journey. True, a lot of "false" profiles may exist, but I'm happy to share my naked enthusiasm with anyone who wishes to chat with or "Friend me" on True Nudists.

Responding to the "Why Not Certified" question; with regard to TN in general I can't see any reason not to get certified. You don' have to share the nude photo used in the process of certification with the whole site. If the profile of someone making a FR shows they're certified that says to me that the site administration has seen that member in a nude photo, therefore the likelihood of them being a nudist is higher in my view than non-certified people.

Within this group though I don't see that it matters if people are certified or not. 'LOVE TO SHOW YOU MY NUDE BODY CLUB' says to me that all of us here should see no reasons to be ashamed or embarrassed about being seen nude, or that other people know we're nudists. For sure there will be those here more interested in seeing nudists than showing themselves to be nudists. It can be like that at a public nude beach where clothing is optional. I use them more than nudist clubs, if we're comfortable being nude in public clothing-optional situations, proud of our nudism and not caring who sees us naked there. I see this group as being similar to those places. Showing ourselves as nudists might help those curios about this way of life might encourage newcomers to join us naked.

Personally life is much easier being open about my nudism, nudism has become a bigger part of my life as the years have passed, life is short, I don't need to complicate it by pretending to be somewhere else on holiday when I'm planning on enjoying being nude with like-minded people. If true nudists openly share their nude photos here then hopefully we an show that there is nothing wrong with social nudity, that nudism is something to celebrate and appreciate the mental openness that we know comes with the physical openness of social nudity.
