Stretching my PA
Return to DiscussionsI was pierced with a 14g in 2008, wore it and eventually moved up to a 10g until 2012, and then removed it due to lack of interest from potential suitors.
I recently went to a piercer, who pierced my nose, and inquired about putting the 10g back. The hole was still there, but the 10g did take some encouragement to slide back in. I had the 10g in for about a month and I noticed the hole stretching back to how it used to be before I removed it for awhile. I went back because the ring was way too loose and I wanted to size up a bit. The parlour didn't have any 8g or 6g curved barbells in their salon but my piercer did tell me that he could dialate me a bit to squeeze in a 4g, and after thinking about it i said "sure."
What an expereince. On one hand I am glad I jumped up 3 sizes right away, but word to the wise- don't jump sizes any greater then 2 more gauge sizes up. I was very sore for 3.5 weeks while it "rehealed" itself.
Go slow if you want a seamless transition with minimal pain.. its worth it !!
I've had my PA for a bit over 13 months and have worked my way up to 6 gauge (4mm). It took a while to upgrade from 8 gauge (3.2 mm), finally achieved with a 3 to 4 mm sounding rod. I'm hoping to go to 4 gauge (5mm) soon but am not rushing it. All the advice is to do it slowly and gently. BTW at 6 gauge my ring is heavy enough to feel it move as I walk. And it tinkles on the bent barbell through my scrotum.
I wrote that 2 months ago. I finally upgraded to 4 gauge last week. I heeded the advice to go up one step at a time and to take it slowly.
