Netflix's "Stranger Things" and the importance of male friendships
Return to DiscussionsIf you have Netflix and haven't checked out "Stranger Things" yet,
I strongly encourage you to do so.
Everything about it is great - story, cast, acting, soundtrack,
everything. It's set in the early 80s and is a little derivative of
the classics from that era (ET, Poltergeist, etc), but it's top

so it's not a huge investment of time.
Here's an excellent article focused on how it treats the male
friendships at the center of the story. Good stuff, all around. I'd
be interested in hearing from others who've watched it and what
they think.

I just finished the first season...I was touched by the incredible bonds the boys have for each other and how nothing or no one was going to come between them...really looking forward to the second season.
