Favorite Male Bonding Activities
Return to Discussionsseems like for many of us, the "getting out and away from it all" leads the way in terms of preferred male bonding activities. Maybe it's just me, but here in the northern hemisphere, I"m to the point that I'm counting days until spring. What would people think of setting up a camping/hiking outing by region? Something in the US in New ENgland, mid-Atlantic, midwest, etc., as well as other areas around the globe, announcing them plenty of time in advance and those of us who can, plan to attend, meet up and enjoy some male bonging and building friendships?
My life has shown me that men bond best when doing a task together. It is too easy to "lone wolf" it and do a task alone. So when camping, have the other guy(s) help building a fire: gather wood togeher, assist each other with log splitting, lay the fire as a duo. Yes, you can do each task yourself -- maybe even better! And it doesn't need to involve lots of talking or direction giving. Men communicate quite well with gestures, grunts and groans.
Nakedness doesn't require discussion either.
Growing up my dad taught me how to win at Roman-Greco wrestling. My fondest male bonding memories are of spending entire hazy afternoons in the backyardt trying out all my moves on my father. Nowadays we mostly stick to bond over sailing... so sailing is another great way to get some meaningful bonding time in while having a blast at the same time.
