Spouse still not into Nudity but knows I am
Return to DiscussionsI have posted this in another group but think it very appropriate to post here as a lesson for many others maybe.
My wife doesn't care to participate in nudity but had "caught" me nude out on the balcony of our cruise ship a few times and "caught" me nude at home when she came home from a meeting a few times. But she didn't really equate that with me being a nudist. Lately I have had the privilege of visiting a friend's home for a couple of days where we (the guys) swam nude -- but not our wives. And my wife of course was fully aware of that. Then I have also openly gone to another person's home for a few hours to talk, have a beer, and to swim nude in his home pool. She didn't accompany me on these trips unfortunately but was fully aware that I was nude during those visits.
Very recently I totally fessed up with her -- I told her, yes I am a nudist. I like it because it is more comfortable. And yes I like others to see me as well as I like to see others nude; that isn't the primary reason at all but it is a nice side benefit of being nude. When we are not wearing clothing we can just concentrate on enjoying the talks and whatever event is going on. So now she knows I like being nude with others and intend of course to continue. She also knows that I enjoyed going to a nudist community/resort and plan to do it more. I then showed her my truenudist page and gave her a guided tour of my entries and pictures as well as the pages of my TN friends.
I commend to everyone who has a non-nudist wife like mine who isn't a nudist because you never opened up to her: You should open up the truth to her - eventually it will likely come up anyway, particularly if you make nudist friends socially. Scary to do so? Yep, sure is. But so worth it in the long run. It was the best decision I made recently. Who knows, maybe someday she will decide to give it a try -- then I can graduate out of this group but be a happy man for it.
That's awesome. Years ago my wife saw an article in times magazine about a website. Called skinbook. Told me I should check it out. That's when I really started being a nudist and she is okay with that. I don't think it is wise to hide it from your partner. She still hasn't joined me but is okay with my interests in it. She knows I'm on here and even has my password if she wants to go on. Maybe one day she'll join me.
