Married Nudists
Married looking for some social events. Fun and just hanging time.
Your first resort experience
Return to DiscussionsAfter several years of going to Gunnison beach, our first resort experience was Sky Farm.
We were very impressed with the resort right away. Sky Farm has a well thought out welcoming plan for all first time visitors. We were met at the front gate and were immediately whisked away on a golf cart for a tour of the entire property and amenities
Once the tour completed, we were escorted to two poolside lounge chairs and an umbrella that had been reserved for us. It seemed like every member stopped by to welcome us and introduce themselves. Nudist by enlarge are friendly, but the members of Sky Farm took it to another level. We returned the following week and joined as members.
We had only one disappointment. In the evening, there was a wonderful dinner gathering on the large deck. We were disappoint that everyone got completely dressed for dinner. We were enjoying our stay but my wife felt uncomfortable being nude when every one else was dressed, so we put clothes our clothes on as well.
On a side note...
The "dressed for dinner" thing at many nudist resorts is actually pretty common. And it's a pet peeve of mine. It can be really off-putting for nudists who are unaware of this "practice" and walk into a social event - and find themselves the only people actually still nude.
My wife and I went to out first nudist B&B last summer. There was no "dressed for {...}" thing. My wife ended up really enjoying the fact that she could stay naked for almost 3 days straight, without being concerned about her or others covering up at any point. Which is why the B&B is now on top of her list for nude recreation.
Looking back at your first visit to a resort what was your biggest disappointment, biggest surprise, and or your most fun memory?
We were sitting on our local nude beach with a couple we'd met several months prior and had visited the beach together many times. As we were eating lunch, the other couple said, "we should go to a resort!" We agreed and made a date and I called one that we'd agreed on. The person answering the phone was rude and that just turned us off immediately. Scratched that one off the list for our first visit.
I called the other place and talked and laughed with the owner and booked our day visit. Our first resort visit was The Terra Cotta Inn, in Palm Springs. We enjoyed it so much, we visited quite frequently for day visits, overnights, weekends and weeklong visits for the next 20 years. Our favorite part of our visits was that we met some lifelong friends at this place and we are friends to this day. In fact, we are meeting up with them this coming week for a week long visit together, something we've done for over 17 years but haven't since the virus outbreak. It'll be good to all be together again and plan our future bi-annual week long gatherings.
Biggest disappointment; the Terra Cotta Inn closed. Then a new Terra Cotta Resort and Spa opened but then closed.
Biggest surprise; the people that visited this place. There weren't too many we didn't care for and the owners were very nice.
Best memory; too many to list. We did have a really great time during Mardi Gras. We put on masks, wore hats and beads and played Mardi Gras music and had a small parade where we gave out beads to all the women and guys. Hey... they all showed us their breasts so they all got beads! ;DDD

That reminds me of a formal dinner the group we went to Grand Lido Negril with back in the late 90s and early 00s. The resort put on the dinner for our large group each year out on the lawn by the nude beach. Formal attire was required to attend. Formal meaning, ties for the guys and heels for the women. Some women added necklaces or belly chains but the ties and heels were pretty much it.
Ours went great. Neither of us had ever been and my wife was a bit anxious, being a 50 year old grandmother. She was of the mindset that everyone would be supermodels. We quickly saw that not to be the case. The place was a bit rustic, but the people were as friendly as can be and my wife completely forgot she was nude within about 15 minutes. We had such a great time we went to 2 other places for day trips in the next couple of months and booked ourselves on the 2017 BNB.
Worst part of the day was putting clothes back on to leave. We actually looked at each other and said that it sucked to get dressed again. We still have that same reaction.
After dating for 3 or 4 month's, I finally revealed to the woman who turned out to be my future wife, that I was a nudist and invited her to join me for the day at the first resort that I went to, and eventually became a member of, Elysium. Knowing that it was a clothing optional resort and promising that we could leave if she felt uncomfortable in any way helped to relieve her. Within 5 minutes of setting our towels on the expansive lawn we were both out of our clothes and enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, and meeting others that day. We both had a wonderful time and I was surprised and relieved that she acclimated so quickly and really enjoyed the freedom and relaxation of social nudity. We were disappointed when the resort was sold and closed up 5 years later, but then we found and joined a non-landed group made up of former Elysium members, the Southern California Naturist Association. 20 years later, I'm the president of the group, she sits on the board of directors as membership chair, and we run a clothing optional B&B here in Southern California!
