Nude or Nudist
Return to DiscussionsMany of us remember the old saying " if a tree falls in a forest, but no one is around to hear it fall, does it make a sound?" in comparison, "if we are alone and nude, but no ever sees us, are we truly nudists?"
I believe a true nudist is a person who has moved beyond feeling shame, or concern about the judgement of others, a person who has been liberated to feel completely dressed in their nakedness without fear of rejection or redicule.
As nudists we seek others like ourselves and welcome the opportunity to showcase our universal uniform of nakedness, showing equality and acceptance. We put our bodies on display and present oursleves at our most venerable in hopes of connecting with others on a deeper level, we stand naked and united no longer using clothing or adornments to conceal imperfections, enhance or show status/wealth...
So the question stands, if we are only ever nude alone are we truly nudists?...
We were born naked and if we enjoy not wearing any clothes, we are naturists, and it makes no difference if we alone or not. When we enjoy taking and leaving our clothes off, we are nudists. And if no one is around, that makes us solo nudists. If we have the intent of attracting attention for our nudity, we are exhibitionists. If we are in the forest wearing no clothes, fall and no one witnesses it, we are clumsy and probably need bug spray.

It is like trying to explain the difference between naked and stark naked! And what is this jaybird we can be as naked as? I spend as much of my day naked as I possibly can. I do have a wrap I try to remember to throw on to water the plants on my patio as it is not private there, but if I should be seen it doesn't matter to me if I am perceived as a naturist or a nudist.
June 16 , 2017 . Nude is what you are when you aren't wearing any clothes . Nudist is a mind-set and action of a person . I am nude when I take my clothes off completely , but I am a nudist when I lay out openly naked on a beach towel at a beach . Nudist is what I am at home when I take all my clothes off and become comfortable while wearing nothing . Nude is what I am for a moment , at that moment , after taking all the clothes off . Steve
