Return to DiscussionsThe sand movements at Sunnyside North definitely change accessibility to the beach itself. The northern access changes from a little challenging to a real rock scramble, while the southern end can be sandy or just rocky. I like to visit barefoot but the entrance trail can be a challenge!
I used to go to Sunnyside from the mid 1980's to around 2000, missed a few years. But it has always been rocky at the north end. Some years were worse that others, and yes storms did make a difference. I had friends who had a bathing box on the Mt Eliza beach (Moondah?) and I used to walk from there sometimes, was a hassle at times around that north point of Sunnyside.
