I'm looking to go on my first trip and wondering when to go.

I want my first trip to be when it's fairly busy, I'm not sure I'll have the nerve if I'm the only one around. It goes without saying that weekends will be busier than weekdays and the better the weather the bigger the crowds but what sort of scale are we working on? Tomorrow for example is a weekday between two bank holiday weekends and the weather is reasonable but not great and has a chance of a shower mid-afternoon. Will it be a ghost town there or would you expect a few people regardless?

Also when I go what time of day do people tend to arrive/leave?
