More comfortable nude around the opposite sex
Return to DiscussionsFor some reason I find that I am more comfortable being nude around females in general. It's not a sexual thing, as I strongly believe that nudity doesn't equate to sex. I feel that our actions and words are what can make things sexual and not just the act of being nude itself. I think that it might be because I haven't gotten much experience being nude around others socially. And the few friends that I have been nude around and know of my nudism are female. This might have something to do with that, but I still feel that in general I feel more comfortable around females.
I was wondering if anyone else feel the same way too?

I'm naturally a very social and friendly person so ... being more comfortable around the opposite sex, while nude,is natural for me but I'm also very comfortable being nude around the same sex as well. I get along well with males and females and I was raised to be a gentleman. Sometimes, females, younger females don't know how to handle that. Pulling out a chair for them, opening a door for them, getting up and giving up your chair for them, allowing them to cut in line for the restroom, saying "please, thank you, your welcome," I find that some of the younger females find that foreign and don't know how to handle it. Being complimentary ... yikes, that doesn't go over very well with the younger females! At least those that I've encountered but there are always exceptions to the rule.During our nudist gatherings with friends, if nothing is happening at our friends home that needs fixing or building ... I'm more apt to go with the women shopping. I don't mind it and neither does our friend that owns the home where we gather, in AZ. I'll get up and go with my wife, the couple that owns the house and maybe one of the other female friends and go to garage sales, visit furniture shops and hunt for things for their place. I also like to pick their brains a bit for their take on nudism/naturism. That's were I get some of my information to reply to posts by female members on these types of sites. My wife gives me all of her input but I'm always interested in what other females have to say on the subject. Luckily, our female nudist friends are open and honest and tell me what they think and I like to share that with others. A couple of the other guys don't like to shop, talk to the women and just want to sit in a lounge chair all day and bake in the sun. That's okay for them and I like to do that once in a while but ... I also prefer the social aspect of relationships with our female friends and that includes times when we do wear clothes.
I find that some females actually seem offended when I'm trying to be a gentleman and do something like hold a door for them.
As for being more comfortable around the opposite gender, I'm usually a little more comfortable around females, but that is true in the textile world as well. Maybe it has to do with growing up with sisters and no brothers.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way. I hope that after going to more social events I'll be more comfortable around everyone equally.
I think one issue here, in an 'online setting' - versus meeting men and women in person at a resort or someplace similar - is until you get to know someone , as much as is possible online, you have to be 'aware' of what I might call the 'perv factor' {for lack of a better name}. I think that is more likely to occur with males versus females. And that is {mostly} irrelevant of what that person's listed sexual orientation is.
{I hope that makes sense, I cannot word it any better than that....}
I believe the feeling you have around nude males is pretty common. It wears off as you become more socialized as a nudist. One thing that helps a lot is to do an activity with nude men such as tennis, bowling, darts, whatever, your mind is focused on the task at hand. The next time you see those nude men you will have fond memories of activities you did together.
