Naked At Home - 2014 / 2024 -
For people who like to be naked in the house...
Backyard
Return to DiscussionsWhile I've spent lots of time tanning on nude beaches, I'll limit this experience to my back yard. I'm fortunate enough to live in a neighborhood and still have a little backyard privacy. There is one small spot where I can sunbathe without fear that a nosy neighbor will complain. When school is in session and the wife is working, I sometimes take the laptop out to my spot for hours. Just two weeks ago, the kids were with friends and wife was gone so I found myself at home alone. Perfect for some nude rays. I conducted conference calls and responded to emails from the comfort of my lounge chair for over 4 hours. If I ever move again, backyard privacy is a must have.
We have seven acres in the country. We do have neighbors, one being very close to our property line. Another works mostly out of town and the third house is empty and for sale. We have total privacy on our back porch and back yard as well as the back acreage. Very seldom do i dress when at home or outside.
Although all three homes we've owned have been tract homes ... we've done extensive research and investigation prior to buying each home to ensure our backyards would be private enough for us to live our nudist lifestyle. Our first home was in a tract with nothing but single story homes and the fences were over 7' high. Even after adding concrete pathways, planters and such, leveling out the drastic drainage done by the builders, our fences still remained well over 6'.
Our current home, we have only one neighbor. It is a two story home, next door, but we've spent quite a bit of money putting trees up to block the two windows that have a view of our backyard. We've done as much as we can to block their view but we are certain they've seen us naked numerous times and they are still quite nice and friendly.
Any home we bought or will buy must be nudist friendly. Not only for us but for our nudist friends that come to visit. We want them to feel comfortable and secure in knowing that they can be naked anywhere in our home or in our backyard. It's also very important to us so that we are able to live the nudist life we love and enjoy, so we are not confined to only nudism inside our home.
We have a good size yard that I also happens to be very open. Our one neighbor is rarely home in the summer and the other historically doesn't come out. I've been out there nude before, but they just recently got a puppy who frequently comes visiting...
Our home is in the suburbs with 1/4 to 1/3 acre lots, two of my neighbors have two story homes that overlook our backyard. About ten years ago We said something about not being very modest and they might see something. Neither neighbor cares. I'm nude in the backyard as often as possible during the summer and don't worry about it.
So many posts here talk about privacy hedges, trees, screens, etc. are you really sure it's necessary? In my experience with two homes now it is not. The neighbors have seen and don't care.
Some times ... the privacy isn't just for the neighbors but for those visiting and wanting that privacy. Truthfully, it is necessary for my wife but not for me. She's fine being naked in front of others but as she puts it ... "I'm not on display for anyone and especially non nudists." The rest of our female nudist friends feel similarly, so we put up the trees and such for that reason. ;-)
Good on you that you approached your neighbors. I'd hoped to do that but we never got around to it and our current neighbors seem fine with what we tried to do and haven't complained to us or the authorities. That works for us. :D
My back garden is surrounded by neighbours on all sides. But my house was built first and I had it from new. Every time another house was built we planted a tall tree to block the view. Now my garden is surrounded by tall trees and nobody can see in.
Actually ... I prefer seeing landscaping; shrubs, trees, trellised vines ... instead of the side of someone's house. We've surrounded our property with foliage that we hope to grow just high enough to block out all the surrounding homes and keep them trimmed so we don't block the surrounding hills and mountains. Now ... if we can only block out the damn speeding cars driving by at all hours of the day and night! :D
