Good for you. I've been through a few bad times over the years. Friends (okay, textile ones as it was before my clothing allergy) were one of the biggest helps.
I'm sure you will get through it, but remember, whatever makes you drink will still be there when you stop.
Funny that you mentioned a clothes allerg. I seem to have developed one as well. When ever I get home the clothes start to scratch my skin. So they must all come off as soon as I come through the door. The Trouble is my clothes allerg has developed outside my house now. I am lucky in that I can be naked in my backyard. Too bad I can't drive to the market nude.
I didn't see it as an alergy for a long time. It's not physical at all, purely mental;.
The more I spent time naked, the more I wanted to. The thing that annoys me most is how restricted I feel in trousers when I'm sat down, how tight my trousers feel on my thighs. Sometimes I notice it in the mornings, but mostly I notice it driving home from work. Provided it isn't going to be too cold in the garage when I get home, the trousers come off pretty much as soon as I'm far enough away from work. Even this time of year, the shoes and socks come off straight away. My feet have become allergic to shoes.
I even sit at work with my shoes off, although I have to hide the fact from my workmates. As I've said before, one almost had a heart attack when I told her I'd got my tummy sunburnt on the beach
