Naked At Home - 2014 / 2024 -
For people who like to be naked in the house...
Tough being a single male
Return to DiscussionsYes.. It is frustrating for sure.. What does help is to join one of the main nudist originations likeThe Naturist Society (TNS) or American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR). This shows places you are a naturist/nudist and not just a beach 'Romeo' or voyeur. But indeed it is frustrating to be classified as such being single.
Try being a nice guy; friendly, open, interesting, and not pushy, first.I started nudism at the Club Meds of the Caribbean 30 years ago. On my second day I befriended a nice, single girl on the beach who became a well know ballerina. On my second trip, on the second day, I started hanging with a couple and three single girls, all naked. A couple years later I helped form a nude pool/party group in my US city which, 25 years later, is still going strong with some 100 members. One of the single girls from that group joined me on a nude week sailing cruise in the Caribbean. Various guys and girls of that group went on camping trips as well as at least monthly nude get-togethers. A few weeks after I met the woman who is now my wife, I told her about what a nice time I have with my nude recreation friends. She was skeptical but joined in and now I have a hard time keeping clothes on her. Among my nude friends are lawyers, doctors, truck-drivers, teachers, and a former Playboy Bunny. Though we've moved across the country, many come to visit and join us for travel, naked. We, still, meet lots of people on nude beaches and at resorts.Quit whining and just be nice, honest guys.
Not to mention married men whose wives are not nudistso they simply can't introduce themselves as couples, for the sakeof being open and honest. Me for example.
Totally relate to this.
Yes it is the few pervs who ruin it for the
rest of us guys that are single in nudism. So, all my friends end
up being male and then, as pointed out in another thread, you end
up being labeled as gay. So yeah, it is tough. It is sad that there
are nudists, who generally are usually more accepting and open,
that pass judgements on us based on those pervy guys out there, and
friend lists.
But I also agree with what others have said, that
there are some you can befriend, and to enjoy what you can. Be
upstanding and considerate in your posts and people will see you
for who you are and maybe they will friend you.
While I do not necessarily disagree with the discussion in this thread so far - according to the TrueNudists promotions there are 250,000+ members in the TN community (admittedly some of them are non-active)... if we consider that there are 46 countries on this planet which have fewer inhabitants then that - it should be possible to find the desired number of likeminded individuals here to befriend ... and ignore those who do not meet the criteria each of us have ...
It's called being self richeous ! No one has the right to class any single male nudist as a pervert or anything else. Couples did not invent naturism/nudism. What about all those married men who only practice on their own? Are they perverts because their other half does not wish to participate, yet accepts that their hubby does ! Does that make them more acceptable because they are married? Those that class single men as perverts because they practice nudity at home are simply being pretentious, it's a form of male naked racism (racism wrong word, couldn't think of another !). Put simply, as a couple, DO NOT make yourself out to be better than anyone who is single. It's WRONG.
Jollyman-sing - no it should not be called men being uber sensitive. Manning up has nothing to do with it. It's the simple fact that others think they have a right to class any single male, straight, gay or bi as a pervert or anything else. what the hell makes them think just because they are a couple they have the say so on anything.Actually, I would say GET A GRIP on reality, because if said nudist couples cannot see past the end of their noses and see that not all single guys are after something, then they don't deserve anyone's friendship.
Fortunately, BravoBR, being able to choose who we have as friends is still a right that we all have. If married couples and single women feel they have enough friends among married couples and single women, they are free to choose not to accept single guys as friends, regardless of the guy's intentions. I was active in nudism for 25 years as a single guy before becoming part of a couple and had no problem making friends among single women and couples (see my comment #34). Unfortunately prejudice is a human trait. We hear in the news so much about raping in India that few, women, couples, OR guyswant to befriend Indians. There were and are times that Irish, Italians, Gypsies, American Indians, Turkish, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, and people-of-color, even now, experience prejudice. As new member screeners for a nude pool/house party group, we rejected, probably, 80% of the single guys wanting admission. When guys start asking about sex, children, and showing off their woodies at parties the people among OUR friends feel we do not want these guys with us. With such a large percentage of single guys being interested in more than the friendship of nudists, it is natural that all are skeptical of single guys. Nudist_Tom, that you were having trouble controlling your woodie indicates that, perhaps unconsciously, you were not ready to be comfortable, without sexual thoughts, with nudists. Your 'nudist experienced' female companion was, perhaps, uncomfortable with an inexperienced nudist, rather than, as you thought, just that you were a single guy.
