Naked At Home - 2014 / 2024 -
For people who like to be naked in the house...
shy to venture outside
Return to DiscussionsWell a couple of things...what is the reason for the shyness? Just that you haven't done it? Or that other people will see you? Is is a body image issue? These are questions to ask yourself and address the issue more directly. But ultimately it comes down to just doing it, like riding a bike or getting into a swimming pool for the first time. Once you do, you will begin to feel more comfortable. And the more you do it, the more comfortable you will be. Are there any nude beaches near you? Those are a great place to start as you can get undressed at your own pace.
You don't say why you're shy about being nude outside, or whether
its about being nude on your own or with other people, with just
nudists or in a clothing optional situation.
As mentioned above visiting a nude beach gives you the chance to
slowly get used to the idea of being naked in public, you can take
your time to undress, find a quieter spot or set up near already
nude people. Visiting a nudist club will mean that everybody else
is likely to be nude, a beach means there's likely to be a higher
proportion of clothed people, if what you're shy about is being
naked in front of clothed people. Nudist clubs are for those of us
who enjoy social nudism, nudist beaches are often a mix of nude and
textile scialising. Being naked at a nudist club means you will be
unlikely to stand out due to being naked, everyone else will most
likely be too. In an all nude environment the other people are
likely to be experienced nudists, another naked person won't make
much difference to them, they'll accept you as a fellow nudist, its
very normal for them to mix naked with others.
Being nude outside is a great experience, especially in natural
places. The fact that you posted this online suggests that you want
to try it. If you can find a quiet spot away from people to
experience nudity outside on your own that might be the way to go,
get used to being naked outside, then try social nudism later on if
that suits you.
If you don't try it you won't know if you like it, or how much you
like it. I'm glad I tried being nude outside, I loved it, it feels
very natural to be naked anywhere I can be, hopefully it'll be the
same for others who want to try outdoor nudism. Nudists tend to be very accepting of others, its not so much how you look naked but more that being naked together removes many of textile society's hang ups about bodies and clothing's labels, naked we're just ourselves.

thanks for that. This really is a good answer to My Question. I will definitely try it this summer. But like You said. You need to try it to see if You like it.Thanks for Your help.
The short answer, Chubby, is just do it!! I first began to go nude outside to sunbathe long before I considered myself a nudist. initially I was nervous about being seen by my neighbors since I was sunbathing in my backyard but as time went along I decided if they saw me it was on them to continue to look or turn away since I was within a fenced yard, never wide open.
Next, while working in the hot sun I decided to shed my shorts and work fully nude, still within my backyard. Again, my attitude became if the neighbors saw me it was upon them to decide how they'd react.
Finally, I declared myself a nudist and joined the Las Vegas Bares and attended my first social outing. I was hooked as I saw, firsthand, the other members (far more experienced nudists) didn't have any problems with another nude man joining their ranks and I was accepted with open arms. As soon as I realized others were nude I too got naked and joined them around the pool where the outing was being held. Clothed and unclothed mingled freely and all were welcomed.

All social nudists have been at that stage of looking to step outside naked for the first time, on their own somewhere secluded or amongst other nudists, in clothing optional places or all nude ones. They've approached it in various ways, either through people they already knew where nudists, or if they didn't have those connections by venturing somewhere that nudity outside would be OK.
I've shared 'first time naked' stories with many other nudists, some were shy, some were not, many were somewhere in between. As others here have said, try it, be naked, enjoy it. I know very few people who having tried outdoor nudism who don't try it again. It can easily begin to feel to be the normal way to be. I honestly don't think about being naked with others any more, we're nudists, its how we like to be. Trying it out amongst experienced nudists might be easiest, they'll be comfortable and relaxed naked with other people, one more nudist amongst them won't make any difference.
Nudists come in all shapes and sizes, we do much the same as textiles but are free of body image issues and hang ups about being naked in company, that's a great foundation for socialising, accepting each other as we are in our most natural state, nude. People may say "well he would say that, he's a nudist...", very true, but I tried it for the first time once. Every time since I've been glad that I had the chance to experience being a nudist. Once I knew how it felt to enjoy natural places while naked, preferably with others, I was a confirmed nudist. Given the choice I'll choose a nudist social event over a textile one, the world is a better place when we're nude socially, we hide nothing from each other physically, and far less mentally too.
Go to a nude beach. You will soon find out that no one is perfect and you can shed at your own pace. I think most clubs will give you some time but eventually expect you to be nude. The couple i have been to did anyway. As far as being a man you might be concerned about how you stack up to other men but that is not even an issue in the nudist world. And once you do WATCH OUT! You'll be hooked.
Just Do It...Or You Will Regret One Day, When It's Too Late.
Agree! - since I adopted a similar policy many years ago my life has become easier and more enjoyable ... every time I feel I want to do something - as long as it does not harm anyone else - I just do it. If I discover that I didn't like it - I don't have to do it again. The policy has not generated any regrets so far ...
